Final Animal Stylin’ Days of 2009 – NV

fries animal-style @ in-n-out

A lot happened in 2009. Some good, some bad, and some downright dreadful. The dreadful part was especially rough, but one thing I learned through it all is to appreciate your loved ones. So last weekend, I took my mom on a trip to Las Vegas, and one of our stops was In-N-Out. Because what better way to say I love you than with In-N-Out burgers and fries?

Last year I wrote about getting burgers Animal Style at In-N-Out, but it was only after I got back that I learned that you can get fries Animal Style also. So this time around, I ordered two Cheeseburgers Animal Style and two orders of Fries Animal Style (total with two small drinks was $13.79).

Like the burger, Animal Style makes the fries oh so much better. The fries came topped with “spread” (their version of special sauce aka thousand island), melty American cheese, and a generous helping of chopped grilled onions. It was crazy salty junk food deliciousness and my mother felt the same. My favorite were the grilled onions. The onions were chopped small and grilled for so long, the onions were soft and caramelized. The only problem was we got so caught up with our beautiful burgers, by the time we got to our fries, the cheese had hardened, gluing all the individual fries into one hard solid mass. Not too big of a deal. We divided and conquered with our forks.

The burgers were as good as last time, if not better, because this time they added more grilled onions. Yes, score! I love me some grilled onions.

Later when we were leaving, we noticed some of the tables had these little pouches of whole hot peppers. Why didn’t I know about these peppers?! Next time, I’ll be getting Cheeseburgers Animal Style, Fries Animal Style, and a pouch of hot peppers! Does that count as a New Year’s resolution? Probably not, but who cares! Happy New Year everyone!!! I’ll be bringing more food pornriffic posts in 2010. Life is short and sh*t happens, so I plan to live, eat, and love while I can.

    @James – Only 4x? Shame on you. Btw, I missed out on Lotus of Siam in Vegas because I didn’t realize they didn’t serve lunch and made dinner reservations the weekend I was there. Argh, next time!

    @Nicholas – I think the lettuce looks like emo hair.

    @someguy – Go next time. It’s good.

    LoS doesn’t serve lunch? That’s news to me – maybe it was part of the same holiday torture that caused me to miss my lunch there. In any case, I too cannot wait to go back. Look at me, I’m already crying.
