When you’re Korean and you want to go all out, you go to a barbecue restaurant, but when you want simple, cheap Korean food, you go to a “boonshik jip” (분식집; boonshik literally meaning minute meal and jip meaning house), a casual restaurant specializing in Korean fast food. My KFC spot, Bon Chon, in K-Town went rogue and changed their name to Mad for Chicken. This week I went to see if they’re still the real deal. A few things are different, but if you want to celebrate the Yankees’ World Series win tonight with wings and beer, Mad for Chicken is a good bet.
