If I lived in the West Village, I’d hang out at Wilfie & Nell every weekend for Scotch eggs, grilled cheese, delicious cocktails, and their great beer selection on tap. Read my review, “Raising the Bar: Being Local at Wilfie & Nell,” on SE:NY. Drunken food porn awaits.
Read “Raising the Bar: Kicking it at The Modern Bar Room” on SE:NY where I write about me kicking it with my mom this weekend. We ate Beer-Braised Pork Belly with a Hinny Kick (Hangar One Spiced Pear Vodka, lime, jalapeño, ginger beer, and garnished with candied ginger). Every weekend should be spent with mom, pork belly, and a vodka cocktail!

I still have an infinite amount of Asian fooding photos to go through, but I thought I would take a break and write about last week’s Grand Tasting at the New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF). Last Saturday, David and I spent an hour and a half at Pier 54 where lots of wine and food were to be had. We ate, drank, and ate some more, but since I want to keep this post to a reasonable length, covered here are just the day’s most delectable bites. MORE »
The Yankees are playing the Angels this Friday in the AL Championships. If you’re looking for a sports bar with good food (onions rings are to die for!) and killer cocktails (Dark & Stormy is gingeriffic!) in Manhattan, check out Warren 77. My post, Raising the Bar: Home Runs and Goals at Warren 77, is up at Serious Eats: NY. Go Yankees!
Everyone knows the cocktails rock at Pegu Club, but did you know their deviled eggs are completely bad-ass? Even if you did, read “Raising the Bar: Devilishly Good Eggs at Pegu Club” on Serious Eats: New York.
