@Danny - I notice we think alike. We always order the same things at Congee Village! I stayed at the the Donovan House, which is part of the Thompson boutique chain (Shang is in LES Thompson). People are nice, and they try to make the hotel hip and young feeling (in the room there was V, Black Book, and an ipod dock), but there aren't a lot of perks you get with bigger chains (no free wireless, coffee and tea is a charge even if you make it in your room with the coffeemaker, only a few toiletries, etc.). If you go, definitely go to Ben's and go eat Ethiopian. I went to Etete (post to come after more Asian posts).

Ben's is always the first place I want to eat when I show up in DC. The milkshakes there are shockingly good, too - half-smoke+fries+shake at Ben's stacks up pretty fiercely against a burger+fries+shake order at Shake Shack!

@Abdul - I love scrapple!

@someguy - Yeah, I know there are flashers in NYC. There are f*cked up people everywhere. What I really should have done is kicked him in the crotch.

@Nicholas - No, actually the metro in DC is really creepy because it's very badly lit. It looks like where giant bees go to die.

On an unrelated side note... why does the DC subway look awesome, while the NYC subway looks... like the NYC subway?

They have alot of flashers in NYC subway too. I think there is a website where the victims has taken a picture of the flasher. I don't remb the link though. You should have laughed and made sure he knew it was small. Sorry you had to experience that.

Every time I go back to DC, I have to get a half-smoke. The next time you visit, try the Florida Avenue Grill for salmon cakes and scrapple. Delectable.
