Banh Mi at Terroir? – NYC

bahn mi italiano @ terroir

My latest post, “Raising the Bar: Banh Mi at Terroir?,” is up at Serious Eats: New York. Did you ever want to eat an Italian banh mi? Terroir has one with pork terrine, mortadella, and pickled vegetables. Is it a banh mi? Not a chance, but it’s still tasty.

My god that looks amazing too. It’s like a banh mi married to a panini. Unfortunately, it looks too fancy so it’s probably out of my affordable price range haha.

How big is the sandwich? It’s hard to tell from your close up pictures. Seems like you got a deal for $10 (on the website it is sold for $11).

@Nicholas – It was $11. I liked it, but if given a choice, I’d choose a regular banh mi. Don’t worry, you’re not missing too much.

@someguy – No, not $10, $11. It wasn’t too large, perhaps 3/4s of a mousepad. Terroir isn’t too expensive, but don’t go there looking for a deal.
