Summer cravings are a strange thing for me. I never know what I’ll crave. Usually it’ll be something really flavorful, because when it’s so hot out, I lose my appetite and I need something strong to awaken my taste buds. Last year, all I ever wanted to eat was chicken biryani from the biryani cart on 46th Street. Last year my wonderful coworker, Taiwai, brought me back Dragon Beard Candy from Hong Kong. The candy is basically spun sugar rolled up and filled with crushed peanuts. It was incredibly delicate with just the right amount of sweetness. I did some research afterwards and read online that they sell them at Dynasty in Chinatown. A month ago, my friend Miguel suggested we go to Montreal for a 3-day weekend. Since I’m always up for a trip where I know there will be good food, I agreed immediately.
